Switching Service Provider because of a line fault is a sideways step, often with no benefit at all. Address the issue, get the fault rectified.

This will enable VAST increases of Broadband speed for both download and upload. The Master Socket or NTE5 is upgraded by an Openreach Engineer and the old Home Hub or BT Router is replaced with a new one as part of the package. New cabinets are being installed adjacent to these old ones, and the new fibre cable links to the original network to serve your house with BT Infinity Broadband. This uses the existing copper cable back to the exchange. The photo below shows me when I worked at BT having just re built a green box Cabinet. BT Openreach are replacing the cable between the green boxes and the exchange with fiber optic cable, thereby reducing the amount of distance your line travels on conventional copper or aluminium wire by at least half in many cases.
